How It All Started
I picked up a crochet hook at age nine, sitting on my grandmother's porch with a skein of scratchy acrylic and absolutely no idea what I was doing. Thirty years later, I still can't put it down.
What started as a hobby became a quiet obsession with fiber, texture, and color. I spent years experimenting with stitch patterns, sourcing specialty yarns, and learning how to translate a mood — a favorite sweater, a paint chip, a memory — into something you can actually wear or hold.
Popcorn Stitch Designs grew out of that obsession. Every commission is a collaboration: you bring the vision, I bring the craft.
My Fiber Philosophy
Color First
Color is the first thing I ask about. I keep a library of 200+ yarn shades so I can match almost any palette — from a specific Pantone to a vibe you can only describe as 'dusty afternoon.'
Fiber Matters
I work with merino, alpaca, cotton, linen, and specialty blends. The right fiber changes everything — how a piece drapes, how it ages, how it feels against skin.
Slow Making
I don't rush. Each piece is made by hand, one stitch at a time. That's not a limitation — it's the whole point. You're getting something no machine could replicate.
Made to Last
I finish every piece with care instructions and honest advice about how to keep it beautiful for years. Handmade should mean heirloom.
How a Commission Works
You Share Your Vision
Fill out the commission form with your project type, color palette, fiber preferences, and any inspiration. The more detail, the better.
We Talk It Through
I'll follow up within 2–3 days with questions, a yarn swatch photo, and a quote. We'll refine until it feels exactly right.
I Get to Work
Once you approve the quote and a 50% deposit, I start making. I'll send progress photos along the way so there are no surprises.
It Arrives at Your Door
Your finished piece ships carefully packaged with care instructions and a handwritten note. The remaining balance is due before shipping.
